Quezon City, March 5, 2025 – On Ash Wednesday, Bishop Elias Ayuban, Jr., CMF, made a pastoral visit to Sacred Heart Parish-Shrine, engaging in dialogue with parish leaders and presiding over a Eucharistic celebration attended by the faithful and barangay officials.
The visit began with a private conversation between Bishop Elias and Fr. Randy Flores, SVD, the parish priest and rector of the shrine. Their discussion focused on the pastoral realities of the parish and its mission in the community.
At 5:30 PM, Bishop Elias presided over the Ash Wednesday Mass, which was attended by a large congregation, including barangay leaders. The Eucharistic celebration marked the beginning of Lent, emphasizing repentance and renewal in faith as the faithful prepared for the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus during Holy Week.
Following the Mass, a simple dinner was held at 7:00 PM, bringing together the Priests’ Team, Parish Pastoral Council (PPC), and representatives of various church ministries for fellowship and dialogue.
At 7:30 PM, a conversation with Bishop Elias provided an opportunity for parish leaders to discuss pastoral initiatives, challenges, and future plans. PPC lay coordinator Rey Yu led the presentation of the parish-shrine’s programs.
The evening concluded around 9:00 PM with closing remarks from Fr. Randy, the bishop’s final blessing, and the singing of a hymn to the Blessed Mother. The event was hosted by Ms. Kara David Cancio, a parish lector.
The pastoral visit was a moment of grace and renewal for Sacred Heart Parish-Shrine, strengthening its commitment to mission and deepening its connection with the local Church.
